The Next Chapter.

Today we have good news and bad news.

So let's start with the good news first.

From today onwards, Modul will be available to everyone. This covers all the premium features we've developed, such as writing tools, password protection, and analytics. There will not be a beta or a waitlist. Anyone with access to Modul will see these features in their editor.

So what's the bad news?

We're stopping all work on Modul.

Modul will not receive updates unless there are critical issues that stop you from publishing your site. Even then, we can't guarantee immediate attention to them.

We know that Modul is far from done. We're not claiming it is.

We also recognized that this product is what led us to you. We promised you Modul, so we'll deliver it as much as we can and bear the cost of its operations on our shoulders.

I understand this news is disappointing for those who have supported us from the start. That's why I've been procrastinating about writing this letter. You see, Modul means a lot to us too.

Modul is something that brought Amir, our CTO, to us.

Modul gave us followers, friends, connections, and this community.

Modul made our voices heard for the very first time.

Modul got us our first investor and is the first product we took from 0 to 1.

It was a ray of hope that we created at graduation.

It was a boat we rode to get us off the shore and sail to our dreams.

But there's only so far that this boat can take us.

We've started to see the limits of Modul and as a startup, it has always been to pivot or die.

So with a heavy heart, we're truly grateful to Modul for how far it has taken us. While we know this boat isn't perfect, it's not broken.

We want it to be able to help as many people sail across while it still can. Because that was why we created it. It's a website builder for those who need a website online asap. It's to get you started before you have the time to rebuild your site on Framer, Webflow or whatever is Next.

It's a boat to help you cross the initial chasm, as it did for us. So I hope you can take our vessel as a gift.

Now, what's next for us?

Don't get us wrong, as a team, we're still Honest Tech. We're still sticking together. But this time with Launch.co investment, we're building something new.

And our approach will be different. Modul was born out of the desires of the people. It's a build-in-public product from the very start, but that's also its Achilles' heel. The public signaled a desire for our product but not a problem.

This time, we'll focus on finding a specific problem first. We'll work privately with a few people before sharing our vision.

We'll apply the same quality of design,

to create a solution that is 10x better than what existed in the past,

with technology that only exists in the present,

in order to meet the needs of the future.

If you're still willing to follow us for what comes ahead, drop us a note at team@thehonest.tech. We read every note that comes in.

Thank you for all the support and love you have given us so far.
